The main aim of CFD is to establish a culture of watching and appreciating Bengali films among the British Bengali community.
Secondly, we want to achieve this through screening Bengali films in towns and cities where there is a large Bengali community.
Thirdly, we want to strengthen the cultural self-identities of British Bengalis through the use of Bengali films to help them keep in touch with their language, culture and heritage. Along with this, sometimes we will even screen films by famous writers and directors from around the world. Not only this, we will hold casting sessions in local Bengali communities where directors from the Bengal will come to hold auditions. We will encourage talented actors in the UK to work with renowned directors and producers from the Bengal. Every year, we will take initiative to make a Bengali film in the UK with local and international actors and artists. We aspire to encourage the new generation to be involved, appreciate and understand Bengali films.
We will work with people in the British media to create relations between British and Bengali cinema. We will regularly appear on tv, radio and magazines updating our audience on Bengali cinema.
To promote our Language, Heritage, self-identities and preserve our culture through the provision of avenues and means through which Bengali movies can be screened and to also put the Bengali film industry on the world radar by creating an environment where the Bengali and British Film Industries can cordially work together.
Our vision is to reveal the true identity, culture and heritage of Bengali to all bengalees in the United Kingdom and all across the world.
